In the Trio system, alarms are managed at two levels:
- Controller: In the controller, define the conditions in which alarms are generated; for example at what temperature does the high temperature alarm begin, how to test the alarms, how to define the auxiliary alarms, and so on. For more information about these functions, refer to the Trio User Manual.
- TrioAir: TrioAir features a number of key alarm delivery definitions. This page details the TrioAir Alarm functions.
Note: The Trio Controller and TrioAir alarm alert systems are independent of each other! The Trio Controller alarm settings also include a delay function and a reminder function. If the Controller delay and reminder parameters differ from the respective TrioAir parameters, two separate alarms and reminders are generated. Refer to the Trio User Manuals for more information on this function.
Introduction to TrioAir
TrioAir provides a cloud-based alarm distribution system available to TrioAir subscribers. Anytime that the Trio generates an alarm, the controller sends the alarm to a cloud-based server. The TrioAir system then distributes the alarm to the farm's operators and managers. The alarms can be distributed via a variety of communication channels (for example SMS, email, and others).
TrioAir requires no additional hardware to operate. Any farm that is part of the TrioAir system can utilise this function to keep the farm management aware of all critical events.
To get to the Alarm Management page, select Farm Settings> Alarm Settings.
Using TrioAir Alarm Management
Notification Settings
These settings define how the alarms are transmitted.
-
-
Receive Notification By: Select which venue you want to receive alarms:
- SMS
- Mobile app notification (push notification sent to phones)
- Phone Call (a voice message is sent to each user's phone)
-
Start Notification Delay: After detecting that a parameter has gone above or below its specs, TrioAir waits this amount of time before sending an alarm. This function prevents sending alarms for short deviations.
For example, if the delay is 1 minute and the temperature goes above limits for 40 seconds, no alarm is sent. -
Delay Between Users: TrioAir generates a list of people who receive the notifications (managers and operators). See Alarm Recipient Priorities below. Alarms are first sent to the first person on the list. The Delay Between Users parameter defines the amount of time that must pass before an alarm is sent to the next person on the list - if the alarm is not acknowledged. Once an alarm is acknowledged, the process ceases.
For example, if John, Susan, and David are on the notification list (in that order) and there is a 3 minute delay between users, John is the first person to receive an alarm alert. If John does not acknowledge the alarm within 3 minutes, Susan will receive an alert. If Susan does not acknowledge the alarm, David receives an alert. - Message Follow-Up: In situations where an alarm is sent to every person on the list but no one actually acknowledges the alarm, the process repeats itself. After an alarm is sent to the last person on the recipient list, the Message Follow-Up delay is the amount of time that must pass before the first person on the notification list receives a follow-up message.
-
Receive Notification By: Select which venue you want to receive alarms:
Note: If a new alarm condition begins after an alarm is sent to the first person in the list, the next person on the list receives both alarms.
Alarm System Settings
These settings define when TrioAir sends an alarm in the event of power or communication loss.
-
- Enable Power Outage Reminder: In the event of a power loss, TrioAir sends an alarm after this amount of time passes.
- Enable Lost Connection Reminder: In the event of an internet crash (meaning there is a loss of connection between Trio and the server), TrioAir sends an alarm after this amount of time passes.
- Report a Connection Loss in Empty House: If enabled, TrioAir sends an alarm in the event that there is loss of connection between Trio and the server when Trio is in Empty House Mode.
Alarm Recipient Priorities
Each farm's notification list consists of the farm owner, managers, and operators. Viewers are not included in the list. The farm owner and managers can edit the list.
-
List order: Click the up and down arrows
to define the each user's place in the list.
-
Enabled/Disabled: By default, except for the farm owner, each user is disabled. Click the enable/disable icon
to enable a user. Anyone on the list can be disabled, the farm owner included. That user will not receive alarm notifications. In the example above, George User 2 is disabled.
- Phone number: A user must enter a valid phone number in his/her Munters ID. If there is no number, "NO VALID MOBILE" appears. George User 4 does not have a valid number.
