Before powering up the scale card power supply make sure all wiring is correct. If any rewiring or re-splicing is needed make sure to power off scale card power supply.
Entire process is done on internal interface
Go to scale menu (4) to scale layout (1):
- Channel 1 – silo 1
- Channel 2 – silo 2
- Channel 3 – scale 1
- Channel 4 – scale 2
Go to scale menu (4) to test (8), check AD readings:
- Silos = 1500-2000 AD
- Scales = 15000-20000 AD
If AD readings are in range above go to scale menu (4) to calibration (9). Bird Scale:
Make sure there is an inch of clearance between scale platform and bedding. Place cursor on channel 3 for bird scale 1 and follow steps below.
- Press enter to go into calibration mode. Make sure bird scale is still and empty before proceeding to next step.
- Press enter for tare registration. After tare wait 5 seconds.
- Place 5 lbs weight on bird scale (make sure to place the weight gently so the scale does not swing).
- On the control enter the weight, wait 5 seconds and press enter.
- Remove weight and press menu.
- Place cursor on channel 4 for scale 2 and repeat process.
- Repeat steps 1-6 for channel 4 Scale 2 Bird scale factors range: 550-730
Bin Scale
Make sure there is no feed in the bin. Make sure there is an inch clearance from bin leg to concrete. Place cursor on channel 1 for silo scale 1 and follow steps below.
- Press enter to go into calibration mode. Make sure nothing is placed on bin legs/crossbars.
- Press enter for tare registration.
- Place 320+ lb on bin (make sure weight is distributed equally to all legs) and press enter.
- On control enter weight (3xx lbs) and press enter.
- Remove weights and press enter.
- Enter current bin weight (zero for empty bin) and press enter.
- Press menu.
- Place cursor on channel 2 for silo2.
- Repeat steps 1-7 for channel 2 Silo 2 Bin factor range: 0.450-0.630
Troubleshooting
- On scale test screen (4.scale > 8.test). If AD readings are 65535 there is an EXC wire crossed with a SIG wire on the channel. On bird scale check that all wires are landed correctly on card (by color) and that all wires are spliced to matching colors. On bin scales check that all wires are landed correctly on card (by color) and on each terminal block in junction box (see junction box wiring instructions).
- On scale test screen (4.scale > 8.test) if for any two neighboring channels on the scale card the AD reading is not in correct range (but exists and not maxed out) there are SIG wires crossed between channels (upper terminal Rs and Ws).
- If a channel has AD reading out of range there is a wire that is not connected properly check for loose wiring on channel, splicing / junction box.
- If AD readings come and go there is either a wire that is not connected properly or power supply is not giving out 10vdc check for loose wiring on channel, splicing / junction box, test voltage on scale power supply output.
