3. Adding a Controller to a Farm

After creating a user account and a farm, you can start adding controllers to the farm. This page describes how to add controllers.

Controllers can be added to farms at various stages. 

• During the Initial Installation
• After Installation
• Trio Cell Modem Registration

Adding a Controller to a Farm During Installation

Note: The following procedure requires that the Trio be connected to the internet. If the unit is offline, refer to Offline Registration.

The first time that a user power ups a Trio, the following Welcome Screen appears.

1. Click Get Started. The following screen appears.
   
   
   
2. Follow the instructions on the page. You will need to:
   • Select the farm (if there is more than one) to which this Trio is to be added
   • Agree to the Terms of Use.

Adding a Controller to a Farm After Installation

If you do not want to add the Trio to a farm at this point:

1. Click Skip For Now 
2. Confirm your choice. The Dashboard appears and notes that this Trio is not registered.
   
   
3. When you want to register the device, click .
4. The QR code appears. Follow the on-line instructions. 

Offline Registration

If the Trio unit is off-line, that status appears on the registration screen. Click Manage Network to troubleshoot your network or follow the procedure below.

• Click Offline Registration. The following screen appears.
  
• Click Continue. The following screen appears.
  
• Using the code that you receive, fill in the squares and click Apply. The following screen appears.
  
  
  
• Click Manage Network to troubleshoot any internet connectivity issue. 
• Click Not Now to go to the dashboard. The dashboard notes that the device is registered but TrioAIr services are not available.
  

Trio Cell Modem Registration

The Trio controller comes supplied with a cell modem and SIM card that can only be used for registration. The modem and SIM card cannot be used to connect the unit to the Internet.

The following procedure details how to connect the Trio when it is not connected to the Web.

1. Power up your Trio. The following screen appears.|
   
   
2. Click Get Started. The following screen appears.
   
   
   
   
3. Scan the QR code and follow the online instructions. The following screen appears at the end of the process:
   
   
4. Click Continue to Controller.  Note that the Trio is off-line.
